The Beginning Of The Beginning

Why does one make a career change in life? Is it the promise of better pay? Life fulfillment? Call times that don't suck as much?

I used to believe that you start at a job after graduation, work and work, become an expert, retire and die. I didn't consider the joy aspect of the job or the development growth. Work was simply something that happened around me, I was never in control.

Work was simply something around me. I was never in control.

At 28, I am starting new.

New career. New mindset. New outlook.

It has been a long time since I have actively made a decision about my future and followed it through. I am taking a big risk for my present and future self. But the vision is clear.

While I may be shedding my own self and starting anew, I feel as though my old self is cheering me on from the sidelines. She's a little tired and she's made mistakes, but she laid the foundation to who I am today. She saw me write down dreams and and nodded yes when there were many no's. I am thankful to for all she gave, but now it is time to move forward.
