Apple came in hot with many new changes and not one but two new pieces of hardware. iOS 16 (Ventura) will launch with the new phones in the fall and to your device...soon? No dates were specifically mentioned, but those registered with the Apple Developer Program already have it in hand.

Now to the many new updates!
The lock screen: I have to say that it took me a few watches to fully understand the features and once I did, I was into it! I love the fact that we can finally personalize our lock screens with different fonts and colours and save them. I have honestly felt that Apple missed a bit of that personal touch, but now I feel like my iPhone is really my iPhone. On top of that, the various lock screens can be paired with a focus mode which I love love love! One last one for the lock screen are new notification pop ups. I love that the role in from the bottom as opposed to covering your entire lock screen. It makes the whole space look cleaner.
iMessage: Now, depending on who you talk to this might be the greatest thing or a nightmare. Personally I am indifferent to it because I don't use iMessage often but, the response has been overwhelming that I feel it bears mentioning. Messages, once sent can be edited and even deleted. This is great for all your spelling errors and potentially tricking people. My hope is that Apple will add note/indicator that shows the message has been edited, similar to WhatsApp.
Dictation: I felt that this was a big win for accessibility features which Apple does so well already. Users can now navigate between typing and speech while you're typing. Love it!
Live text: This one blew my mind a little, not going to lie. While we have all become acquainted with copying and pasting text from pictures, Apple upped the ante and you can now do that to video. Yes, videos.
This next point plays off of live text and stayed with me mainly due to the dog in the picture.

I may not have covered the new hardware coming out and all the other updates but these were my top must see to believe features. Credit to Apple for always pushing our imaginations on what is possible with tech.
