It has been a few weeks since I began my UX Design certificate course by Google.
Two weeks of learning, new terminology and most importantly, fresh coffee.
Overall the course is concise, easy to navigate and somewhat, familiar. To clarify the curriculum is designed for first timers. If you've never heard of UX Design this course does a wonderful job of building a strong foundation of knowledge. Within the first week you have an understanding of the roles and responsibilities of a UX designer and more importantly what UX is.

Since starting the programme I have been able to progress through the course rapidly because the concepts and roles are not entirely unfamiliar. The design systems processes are logical so you find yourself easily following concepts because it makes sense. UX design has humanized tech for me and reframed it in a way where characteristics and principles that are valuable to me, are applied in the work.

I don't expect to be a UX expert in a matter of weeks, but it has been encouraging to find my corner of tech that speaks to my interests, talents and most importantly values. As someone who was floating between jobs that sounded interesting but didn't spark any interest,
UX design has tapped into a curiosity I thought was long dead. I didn't know that you could have this much enthusiasm about your 9 to 5. But here it is, and hopefully it is here to stay.
